Johnson County Online GIS Map

Subject: website for flood hazard maps

Bob, Julie Tallman kindly and patiently assisted me in locating elevation maps online. I believe this may be of interest to others in the neighborhood. Could you please post the following website with accompanying instructions for locating elevations for specific properties in Parkview Terrace? Thanks. Lynn Brenneman

Johnson County Online GIS Map

From the 1st page that comes up, type in house number and street name, without adding Dr/St etc.
Leave Basic theme.
Click on Get Map.
2nd page, click on blue parcel number.
3rd page, click on file folder for Aerial Photo.
4th page, click on empty square for 2006 Orthos.
5th page, click on file folder for FEMA.
6th page, click on left-most empty square for FEMA Flood Hazard Area.

blue=100 yr floodplain
green=500 yr floodplain
pink/red=100 yr floodplain
orange=500 yr floodplain

and other neat way to use this is to:

Choose Theme - Flood
Enter your Street Number and Name (leave off Drive/Street, etc)
Click on Get Map
Click on your parcel number
This will show your actual elevation of your house and the houses near your house.

Or to look at various heights on a street

Choose Theme - Flood
Enter the Street Name (leave off Drive/Street, etc)
Click on Get Map
Click on a parcel number
This will show your actual elevation of this house and the houses near this house.

Thanks Lynn! And Julie, too!
